JOHN FISHER MUSICAL BIOGRAPHY John Fisher has been involved in folk and old time music for over 45 years. He has been performing cowboy songs and poetry for over 16 years. |

He performed with several folk/bluegrass groups during the 60's and 70's, and briefly traveled Northern Minnesota, and North Dakota with a troupe of independent folk music acts called Folk North. . He was an Official Musician for the prestigious Lander, WY One Shot Antelope Hunt. John was involved with the Wyoming Old Time Fiddlers Association in the 70's and 80's, the Douglas ,WY High Plains Old Time Music Festival and the Grand Olde West Days in Craig, Colorado throughout the 90/s. He and partner, Steve Jones are members of the Western Music Association, Academy of Western Artists, and the Colorado Bluegrass Music Association As the Yampa Valley Boys, he and Steve Jones have done over 900 shows in the last 7 years. As a solo performer, he was a regular entertainer at All Seasons - Bar Lazy L, Elk River Guest Ranch, and Vista Verde Guest Ranch. John is also an experienced charity auctioneer; bringing wit, humor, and a commanding stage presence to his auctions. He has assisted such groups as Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation Snow Ball, Walker-Lundquist Golf Tournament, Hospice, Morning Star Foundation, Steamboat Chamber Ambassadors, Strings in the Mountains, Perry Mansfield, Advocates Against Battering and Abuse, Ducks Unlimited, and the Steamboat Arts Council. The Cowboy Minstrel's music is also available on CD released in May 2000, entitled: BANJO BUCKAROO. |
