New CD is #11 Top 30 Cowboy/Western chart!

(Western Way, Summer, 2014)

THE YAMPA VALLEY BOYS' LATEST CD is "New Home on the Range."

It pays tribute to three great singer-songwriters who are no long with us. It includes Doc Stovall's song, "New Home on the Range," Greg Scott's song, "Days of Riding With the Wind," and Locke Hamilton's song, "An Old Puncher's Prayer."

It also includes an original of Steve's that celebrates the silver screen and pays tribute to TV cowboys and their horses, "Cowboys and Horses," and a co-write with Les Buffam. Les wrote a poem, "Sportin' Cowboys," about the Cowboy Downhill, a ski race with rodeo cowboys, and Steve set it to music.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT "New Homc on the Rnge":

Thanks, for sending us a copy of your new CD. Once I started listening I couldn't stop. It is really good and thanks for the cover letter explaining the album. That gives us some info to pass-on to our listeners. I really miss seeing Locke Hamilton and Prickly Pair at the WMA Convention, they were special.
Special thanks to you and John for all your hard work.

Sincerely,
Harvey & Me'lissa Turnbow

"Anyone who has ever owned a horse or enjoyed an old-time cowboy movie loves these guys. They have an easy, down-home cowboy humor that really connected with their audience."

Another dull moment at a Yampa Valley Boys performance.
If you think they're having fun, you should see the audience!

Steve Jones and John Fisher, the YAMPA VALLEY BOYS, are now in their fourteenth year of entertaining audiences—and themselves, as shown in the photograph above. They have performed over 1,800 shows together. They have been finalists for several awards by the Western Music Association, including “best duo” in 2010. Great songs and stories—from the classics to contemporary—plus a good dose of humor comprise the formula that makes them a success with audiences of all ages. John plays banjo, mandolin, and guitar. Steve plays guitar, sings many of the lead parts, and is the group's primary songwriter. THE BOYS have seven CD albums containing original and classic western material and Steve has a solo CD of all Irish songs.

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE WORD, "YAMPA", WAS ORIGINALLY THOUGHT TO MEAN "BEAR"? HOWEVER, IT ACTUALLY MEANS "CARROT".

THE BOYS invite you to get to know them better by visiting their Bio page. They have photos on their News page and Press Kit page. There are links to videos on their Videos page and sound samples from their CD’s are linked on their Music page. Please look around the web site. If you have any questions please CONTACT US.

THE YAMPA VALLEY BOYS have performed at many cowboy music festivals, county and state fairs, rodeos, museums, private parties and weddings. At the sleigh ride venue in Steamboat Springs (during the winter months), THE BOYS have played for folks from South Africa, Ukraine, Siberia, Germany, France, Scotland, England, New Zealand, Australia, and the USA--let them entertain you!
