Steve Jones and John Fisher, the YAMPA VALLEY BOYS, are now in their thirteenth year of entertaining audiences—and themselves, as shown in the photograph above. They have performed over 1,700 shows together. They have been finalists for several awards by the Western Music Association, including “best duo” in 2010. Great songs and stories—from the classics to contemporary—plus a good dose of humor comprise the formula that makes them a success with audiences of all ages. John plays banjo, mandolin, and guitar. Steve plays guitar, sings many of the lead parts, and is the group's primary songwriter. THE BOYS have seven CD albums containing original and classic western material and Steve has a solo CD of all Irish songs.
 

DID YOU KNOW THAT THE WORD, "YAMPA", WAS ORIGINALLY THOUGHT TO MEAN "BEAR"? HOWEVER, IT ACTUALLY MEANS "CARROT".

THE YAMPA VALLEY BOYS have performed at many cowboy music festivals, county and state fairs, rodeos, museums, private parties and weddings. At the sleigh ride venue in Steamboat Springs (during the winter months), THE BOYS have played for folks from South Africa, Ukraine, Siberia, Germany, France, Scotland, England, New Zealand, Australia, and the USA--let them entertain you!
 
THE BOYS' most recent CD album, Second Guard, is their seventh and best CD yet. It reached #8 for Western Album on the March-April 2011 Rope Burns music chart. It includes “Already Gone”, a finalist for song of the year in 2010 in the Western Music Association; “House of Light”, #7 song on the March-April 2011 Rope Burns chart, several originals and some old favorites.
